About the Artist

Each piece of wood is shaped and joined by hand, and is finished to enhance the natural beauty of the wood.

My purpose as an artist is defined by a desire to create all that I can by using the skills I have learned, the knowledge I have acquired, and, my imagination. Every piece that I create is, in some way, a balance of these three forces.

I am also very firmly dedicated to using every bit of material which I have. Pieces left over from big projects become small projects; pieces left over from small projects become chopsticks and spoons. Shavings and sawdust are used as mulch or added to the compost pile. Small or damaged scraps are used as cooking fuel and the cinders thrown in the garden.

If you see me at a show or festival stop by and say, "hello!" If I'm not at the booth, then you'll probably meet my wife, Carly, who is usually with me. You won't be able to meet the other two residents of my house -- my two rabbits Derby and Petunia
