Artist Residence Renovation

We have finally begun the renovation of the front room of our house. Work began in January 2011 with purchase of material. Over the course of the months the floor was cut and finished off-site, while the bulk of the molding was being worked by hand in-house. Installation began in April 2011 with painting and patching, followed by removal of old carpet and padding, as well as the existing baseboard and casing. The floor is 3/4″ Rotary cut Hard Maple Plywood custom-cut into widths from 4″ to 18″, then tongue-and-grooved and nailed down over 1/2″ homasote.
