The Vaso Credenza featured on Apartment Therapy is made from Dyed Cherry, Beveled Glass Insert, with Brushed Nickel Hardware
Aparment Therapy featured Art’s work and the Vaso Credenza as part of their “green week.” Apparently they not only dig Art’s style, but also his commitment to using as much of the wood as possible and limited use of power tools. We acknowledge the occasional power drill or sander, but trust me most of the work is done with little hand planes and elbow grease.
We think that if Apartment Therapy liked the Vaso Credenza they should check out the Lux Prunus Corner Cabinet.
Lux Prunus Corner Cabinet is made from solid cherry with a distressed finish and brushed nickel hardware
And, of course, if those speak to you — you should definitely check out the amazing Atomic Table!
The Atomic Table is handcrafted and made from maple with a pickled finish and a glass top.

Wow. When it rains it, it pours!
What’s happening, you ask?
Well, tonight Art is off to the Annapolis Wood Workers’ Guild to speak at their monthly meeting about the Monster Cabinets. It’s great to see local woodworkers taking an interest in his work like this.
So what else is happening?
Tomorrow, Art will be featured in DailyCandy DC! Yep. The DailyCandy. Can’t even begin to tell you how excited we are about that.

Okay — so this is a last minute announcement because Art and I have both had the flu for a week and it slipped my mind to post this. “Bad Wife!”
Come to Crafts and Kisses 2008 and see Art and 39 other amazing DC artisans this Sunday, February 3rd, 2008 from noon to 5pm. He has an amazing new selection of bamboo cutting boards, tea light holders, and live edge shelves. I also can see some cute little side tables getting a fresh coat of oil before making this wintry appearance.
The bamboo cutting boards are really nice, I love mine! It’s a great Valentine’s Day gift for the cook in your life.
The event is being held at Josephine Butler Parks Center next to Malcolm X/Meridian Hill Park in NW. Google Map it!

Wow — the chopstick orders have been rolling in! It seems that everyone wants handmade chopsticks for stocking stuffers this year. Mostly people are jumping on the cherry chopsticks, but I prefer the unique peach and apple wood chopsticks. They’re a little different and make great hairsticks too! Oh, the wood also comes from the peach and apple trees in my front yard — can’t get more eco-friendly than that! We don’t use any pesticides and he hand-carves the darn things. There’s also the fabulous purpleheart chopsticks. Purple heart, as I’ve learned is an African hardwood that is naturally purple. It’s definitely one of my favorites, because until Art started using purpleheart I never knew wood could be that color!
Of course Art also makes other spiffy things, but lately it seems like he’s just sitting in his shop making chopsticks!
