I was recently commissioned to create a large sign welcoming visitors to the client’s home. Since she wanted the lettering in a particular font and size I thought it prudent to do a few practice pieces (studies) before moving on to the final product.
This is one of those studies.
It is made out of Cherry, hand carved, sanded, and sealed with a coat of a tung oil/varnish mix.
They can be used as decoration, or incorporated into another craft work They do not have any hanging hardware, but a picture hanger could be easily attached to the back if hanging were desired.
