Most of the Menorahs I have made have been loaded with symbolism and meaning. With this one I took a more whimsical tack.

In sketching ideas for a new Menorah, I discovered that many of concepts looked like spacecraft. From there I carved a Moon-lander-like body from a block of Cherry and added stainless steel landing legs.

For added fun, the “rough landing” bends of the legs give the piece the appearance of walking. The ball-and-socket feet can adjust to whatever terrain on which you happen to be celebrating Hanukkah.

(It is called “Eagle 2″ because it is the second version of the design).
