I don’t usually list out each set of blocks on sale, because the inventory changes too frequently to update it here and at the store on Etsy.com.  But these were fun, and I thought it was worth listing them separately from the general wooden blocks page.

Down at George Washington’s Mount Vernon they recently opened grist mill.  Since I live in DC, I visit Mount Vernon a few times a year. They have been selling flour milled there packed in old-fashioned muslin sacks. After going through the flour I washed the sack and saved it, hoping to find a use for it.

Now I have, a theme set of George Washington Cherry Tree blocks!  There’s 13 blocks in the set, one for each original colony to keep to the GW theme. I cannot tell a lie: the cherry wood these blocks are made of came from Ohio.

They have been well sanded and the edges beveled.  There is some minor variation in size and a few still show faint saw marks. They were all sealed with food-grade, non-toxic walnut oil.
