Vibe Vanity, 2006

Private Collection

This piece is the Vibe Vanity, designed on commission for a private collection. 

The design was inspired by a song the collector heard on the radio, "Meli Meli" by Cheb Mami.  The client has a bohemian esthetic to her decorating style.  There are lots of silks and textures, and Southeast and South Asian decorative touches.

The piece is done in Walnut with a dark espresso finish.  A custom stool was created to accompany the piece a few months later.

To complement the "vibe" created by  the curves, a Tibetan singing bowl is featured in the top to hold personal items, and the Ebony accents, purchased from a Lutherie, were originally destined for a guitar.
